Austin's economy has been strong recently, mostly as a result of the growing technology industry. However, we are overly dependent on this one industry, which provides few opportunities for entry-level work and trade jobs.
- Support growth of bio-tech industry around The University of Texas and new Dell Medical School
- Complete the creation of the re-manufacturing hub to leverage recycled materials into manufacturing jobs
- Better coordination with all local school districts (including Round Rock and Leander ISDs in District 6) and ACC to provide workforce development opportunities that will support a diversified economy
- Focus on job growth created by building an affordable, livable, and equitable city and not through corporate tax incentives
